The context is lost in transit.
Copy a passage into a separate translator and the result arrives detached from its heading, its table or the paragraph beside it. Reconnecting the two is manual work the reader repeats every time.
BUILT BY GLOPIM / CHROME EXTENSION v1.0.0
Snap Translate translates the region you select directly on the page. The layout stays as your reference, and your chosen AI receives the selected passage together, so it can read phrases in context instead of word by word.

01 / THE PROBLEM WE STARTED FROM
Reading across languagesUseful information keeps arriving in languages people do not read. The tools that translate it pull the reader out of the page — away from the layout, the images and the structure that made the content legible in the first place.
Copy a passage into a separate translator and the result arrives detached from its heading, its table or the paragraph beside it. Reconnecting the two is manual work the reader repeats every time.
Translating a whole page replaces everything at once, including the parts that were already clear. Readers who need one specification, one caption or one paragraph pay for the entire page.
Specifications, screenshots, packaging and charts routinely carry text that no page translator can reach, so the reader stops at exactly the detail that mattered.
02 / OUR FIRST PRODUCT
Chrome Manifest V3 · v1.0.0Meet Snap Translate. Select a region and read its translation in place. Keep the page as your reference, with a choice of Basic translation or AI that works with the passage you select.
PREPARED CHINESE → ENGLISH EXAMPLE
阅读一篇文章,了解一种观点,发现新的可能。无需离开当前页面,也能继续探索。
Translate selected page text in place. The extension aims to preserve the original layout; translated text can vary in length.
Basic mode uses on-device OCR for English and Vietnamese images. AI mode can handle selected images through your chosen provider.
Use MyMemory for Basic translation, or bring your own OpenAI or Gemini API key for AI mode. Provider usage limits and charges may apply.
In development. Chinese page text uses translation; Chinese image text requires AI mode. Basic local OCR currently supports English and Vietnamese.
THE BUILD TODAY
Unmodified captures of the private v1.0.0 build, taken in a fresh Chromium profile with no API keys configured and no translation requests made.
Set source and target languages. Pick Basic, or add your own provider key for Pro.
Activate the extension and select a region. Whole-page translation is also available.
Translated page text appears in place; image text appears in a positioned overlay.
03 / WHY SNAP TRANSLATE
Selection-first · bring your own keyA useful translation should help you understand the content and stay oriented in the original page. Snap Translate brings both into the same workflow.
Select the part you need and translate it in place. Text replacement aims to retain page styling; image translations use positioned overlays. You keep the visual reference instead of rebuilding it in a separate translation box.
Copying isolated words can lose the relationship between them. Pro sends the selected text together in a request so your AI provider can interpret phrasing and nearby context. It does not automatically read the whole page.
You configure your own OpenAI or Gemini key, so AI usage is billed to you at provider cost with no markup from us. The software price stays independent of how much you translate.
Directional positioning, not a like-for-like comparison. Competitor terms were checked on 2026-10-08 and can change.
| Dimension | Bundled-credits products | Snap Translate |
|---|---|---|
| Reference point | Immersive Translate lists Pro at $14.99 / month with an included advanced-model allowance | $5 / person / month proposed, software only |
| AI cost model | Credits bundled into the subscription; heavy use can exhaust the allowance | Your own provider key at provider cost, with no markup from us |
| Primary interaction | Typically whole-page or side-by-side rendering of a document | Region selection first, translated in place on the page |
| Text inside images | Varies by product and plan | Local OCR for English & Vietnamese; AI vision for other scripts via your provider |

Three ways the interaction fits into everyday work. Examples, not customer claims.
Read a Chinese article or discussion in English, selecting the passages that matter. Stay close to the original structure while you explore the ideas.
Webpage text · Basic or ProCompare descriptions, specifications, or instructions on a supported webpage. Translate an area when you need the details, rather than the whole page.
Selected text · Basic or ProWhen Chinese text is part of an image, Pro can send the selected image to your AI provider for recognition and translation. Review the provider before sharing sensitive material.
Chinese image text · Pro AI modeVisual examples are illustrative. Machine translation can miss context; review important details against the original.
04 / THE COMPANY BEHIND THE PRODUCT
Glopim builds practical tools for working across languages—starting inside the browser, where discovery already happens.
Snap Translate is our first product: a browser extension built around a simple interaction—select, translate, and keep reading. Our direction is deliberately narrow: help people read in context, make processing choices clear, and improve reliability before expanding the scope. Read about Glopim →
Founder and company details are published once confirmed. For investor or partnership enquiries, contact us directly →
Start with a real interruption, then remove it. Our first focus is the friction between finding information and understanding it.
Local OCR stays on your device. Translation text goes to the provider you choose. AI image processing sends the selected image to that provider. Trust & data overview →
Improve the current workflow before expanding the offering. Keep proposed prices and future team features clearly separate from the working product.

No. Basic OCR runs locally, but the recognized text is sent to MyMemory for translation. AI mode sends selected text or images to your configured OpenAI or Gemini provider.
Basic mode does not require an AI API key. AI mode uses a key you enter in the extension popup. Keys are stored in Chrome sync storage, which may sync across your signed-in Chrome profiles.
No. The proposed $5/month Pro plan is software only. The current private build uses your own OpenAI or Gemini API key; provider charges and quotas apply to your account. Subscription checkout is not available yet. Full pricing detail →
